City of neighborhoods


NYC is the largest city in the U.S. comprising five boroughs: Manhattan, the cultural, administrative, and finantial center; Brooklyn, known for its independent art scene and distinctive architecture; Queens,  the most ethnically diverse county in the U.S.; the Bronx, birthplace of rap and hip hop music; and Staten Island, the most suburban in character.

National historic landmarks


A total of 116 national historic landmarks can be found on NYC: Empire State Building, one of the world's tallest building; Central Park, the Green Lung of the city; Brooklyn bridge, the first steel wire suspension bridge; Grand Central Terminal, the largest train station in the world by number of platforms; New York Stock Exchange, the world's largest security market; and Statue of Liberty, the living symbol of freedom; just to name a few.


Stage performance


Broadway, the center of theatrical activity in the whole U.S., is composed of 38 theatres encompassing Times Square, where one can find best musicals and revivals ever.
NYC is also home to the best dance companies in the world. Both ballet and modern dance are present on some of the top performances.

Cultural diversity


Considered the archetype of a nation of immigrants, it's the most culturally diverse city in the world. Around 800 languages are spoken in NYC.
It's unique personality is derived from hundreds of small ethnic communities with their own culture. Many of its major citywide festivals are parades celebrating the heritage of those communities.
